Pitch A: A teen girl fakes her emotions throughout her day and has a mental breakdown at home secretly liking it. Then she finds and notices two unexpected things.
Pitch B: A teen girl’s emotionally challenging life is documented from the moment she wakes, goes to school, and gets home. She will find herself throughout.
My group and I had mixed emotions about this pitch and after thinking carefully about which choice to make between the two pitches, we decided to go with pitch A. This was due to many reasons, one of which being the fact that pitch A was more exciting. Pitch B seemed too generic and boring, too much like many other coming of age movies. It would not excite many viewers since so many other movies have similar plots. Pitch A, on the other hand, is more one of a kind. Neither my group members nor I have ever heard of a movie that follows the same plot as this one. In addition to this, pitch B would be harder to film since we are not allowed to film in on the school premises. While it is possible, my group and I feel it would be confusing and unusual if we filmed a coming-of-age movie about a teenager entering high school, without being able to show the teenager actually in high school.
